Suggest Treatment For Dent Of Left Side Of Head

hi, i have recently noticed a dent on the top left side of my head, it starts about an inch from my hairline, and is about 1.5 inches long and less than an inch wide. It doesnt hurt but it has only recently appeared, and hasn t been there since birth. I take iron tablets for an iron deficiency and metformin for polycystic ovaries, it that helps. thanks!

Hello,

The painless dent can be due to bone deformity. I suggest you seek medical help from your doctor and get it examined once. It can also be due to weakening of skull bone. This can be a result of some vitamin toxicity like vitamin A, as you are taking iron supplements. Are you taking any other vitamin supplements along with that?

Iron deficiency is associated with different chronic illness. Your doctor needs to examine it and if needed he will suggest an X-ray skull for better understanding along with some blood tests. Do not consume any nutritional supplement without consulting your doctor. Mention if any other medicine is being taken by you for a long time. So with all medical and personal history with diagnostic tests a conclusion can be made.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
