Suggest Treatment For Dementia While On Aricept
my mother has recently been diagnosed with dimentia and recently been in a nursing home. The started her on Aricept and recently increased the dosage. She feels sick all the time. I believe she is reacting to the drug. Can t eat, can t sleep, doesn t feel good and really washed out. Can this drug be stopped or does it need to be weined?

It would be better to lower the dose down to her previous dose and see if the symptoms resolve before just stopping it. Please speak to the prescribing doctor and see what they want to do.
