Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello,

Mr Raunak, if I remember correctly, I answered your query a month or so ago. I wish I had more details about the "big" doctors. What were the medical specialities (for example, paediatrician, heart doctor, bone doctor) of these doctors?

Did anyone of them offer a plan to treat your nephew? Was your nephew born prematurely? Did he spend time in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit? Did he require supplemental oxygen?

It is most important that no further time be lost in helping your nephew. He needs to be seen and evaluated by a Developmental Pediatrician or Pediatric Neurologist as soon as possible.

One of these doctors will discuss with your sister reasons why he does not speak, and assess his mental and physical development and what therapy can be given to help him.

A developmental paediatrician and a pediatric neurologist are specially trained doctors at a University Medical School. You can locate them in the Pediatric Department.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Arnold Zedd, Pediatrician
