Suggest Treatment For Deep Vein Thrombosis

My mother 62, non diabetic, non HTN, no other specific complaints was diagnosed to have deep vein thrombosis following a fall she had a month ago. The extend of the clot is not clearly mentioned in the doppler report. She was given Heparin injections s/c 10 ml BD for 6 days. her INR at the day of discharge is 2. She was neither started on Warfarin nor any venal stockings were prescribed. What further tests/ treatments are required. Can you suggest the best cardiologists around Calicut, Kerala?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi. She should be started on some oral anticoagulation like Warfarin or Acitrom. This should continue for six months and her INR should be checked every 15 days maintain it between 2 and 3. You should make her wear Class II Compression stockings and you should take advice of a Vascular Surgeon or Hematologist. I dont know Specialists around that area. You will have to find out. All the best. You can contact me by leaving a query on my profile page.
