Suggest Treatment For Decreased Heart Function And Urinary Infection

SIR,MY FATHER AGED 85 YEARS HAVING HEART FUNCTIONING 25% IS ALSO HAVING URINE INFECTION WITH PUS CELLS 40-45 TAKING URIFAST AND ALKALINE SYRUP . WILL IT TAKE TIME TO IMPROVE.SINCE DOCTOR HAS ADVISED NOT TO TAKE FLUID MORE THAN 2 LITERS A DAY SINCE HEART FUNCTIONING IS LOW. HE IS TAKING BARLEY WATER .ANY OTHER SUGGESTION.

Hi thanks for using healthcaremagic...
Here the culprit could be the increased post void residue(urine not being voided completely)
If the urine remains in the bladder for long time it can cause recurrent infections.He is already on alpha-blocker which is the treatment for Prostatomegaly.
The best way is to give culture specific antibiotic and treat the present UTI.
Next step is to prevent recurrent episodes.For that we can give Cranberry extract ..Capsules are available
To encourage frequent voiding to prevent stagnation of urine in the bladder...
