Suggest Treatment For Cyst On Back

My 12 year old daughter has a cyst on her back. It s 1&1/2 inches oblong and at least half and inch thick. It can be moved around. The doctor has no idea what it is and has referred us to a surgeon. Any ideas on what it could be or what you think the surgeon will do?

Hi,
From what you have described it seems to be a lipoma benign hypertrophy of adipocytes(fat cells). It is a harmless condition.
If it is a cyst then the surgeon will try to excise it under local anesthesia.
It is a small procedure done on OPD basis under aseptic conditions.

Regards,
Dr.Riyanka
