Hi Doctor, I am Rahul Arora from Khurja, Uttar Pradesh. My grandmother has been diagonosed with a 14 mm cyst in her right kidney. She has severe pain for long time in abdomen. She is 88 years old and is not in a position to undergo any surgery. Please advise us how to go for the treatment.

Hi Rahul, thanks for your question on HCM.

Usually renal cysts are relatively painless and rarely cause pain.
But if your doctor has identified the cyst as the source of pain then she can undergo a small procedure where the doctor inserts a needle ultrasound guided and removes the cyst contents and fills it with medicine that will shrink the cyst.
And this procedure can be done in a clinic setup with minimal pain only while giving the local anesthetic.
I hope that clears your worries.
