Hi I been having a cyst In my buttcrack that is inside my skin instead of outside.it feels hard and painful.feels like a lump and a cyst not sure which one it is.i. been taking warm baths and as well as antibiotics for the infection but I m not sure if it s getting worst or better... The lump or cyst turned hard this morning so I been putting a warm towel too take the pain away...I had a call with my doctor but said it could be follicle cyst in my buttcrack but I m not so sure if that s correct..it s tough to sit down and lay down and be comfortable so I pretty much stand all day I m just curious on what to doo at this point and confused if it s harmful..

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
From history it seems that there might be having ingrown hair follicle infection producing forming abscess or infected sebaceous cyst.
Antibiotic medicine might work if pus is not formed.
If infected cyst is there, it might require excision of cyst with complete removal of sac.
Consult your doctor and get examined.
Ok and take care.
