General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The issue of Craniosynostosis requires a multi step approach for deciding plan of management as:
- Type of Craniosynostosis
- Involves single or multiple sutures
- Prematurity in regard to birth event
- Presenting complaints
- Development status
- Learning disabilities

Many babies do not require surgery and only surgical helmet to shape up the skull. Others do require surgery which may be done by various approach depending upon the type and extent of Craniosynostosis.

@ Endoscopy for younger than 3 months (over 6 months if only 1 suture involved)
@ Open surgery upto age of 11 months

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
