Suggest Treatment For Coughing Fits And Dry Retching

Last year I started having coughing fits. They would be so sever sometimes that my airway would block and I would be gasping for breath and dry retching. I started to use an old inhaler I had which seemed to help. My Gp tried a process of elimination and in the end the one that helped was a long course if antibiotics and nasal spray. It s back again and I wondered if it s an allergic reaction to cat hair or dust?

Thanks for contacting HCM with your health care concerns.

You have been having severe cough and breathing problems. These are symptoms of asthma and possibly triggered by cat hair or dander. There is only one way to tell if you have an allergy to cats is to have skin testing. If you have a cat then I recommend getting rid of the cat and have your home thoroughly cleaned. That may help reduce you symptoms.
