Hello,

By your history and description, the possibility of lower respiratory tract infection (LRTI) is more likely. So you will need antibiotics (azithromycin or an amoxicillin-clavulanic acid combination), mucolytic, and expectorant drugs.

Since all these are prescribed drugs, you need to consult a doctor for a prescription. Drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated. Do warm water gargles and steam inhalation 4-5 times a day. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these in one to two weeks.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Kaushal Bhavsar
