Suggest Treatment For Constipation

My brother has been suffering from constipation since he started hemodialysis in March. He has CHF so his fluid intake is restricted. He takes sorbitol, lactilose but still cannot go. He says he feels it right at the rectum but can t push it out. He has a low heart rate - mid to upper 40 s - and when he tries to push to start the process he gets lightheaded. Because of other medical situations he has been bed bound so I m sure just laying in bed doesn t help. But for now how can this situation be remedied?
