Suggest Treatment For Congestive Heart Failure And Water Retention In The Legs

My mother is an 87 year old with congestive heart failure and water retention in her legs...the last two days she is a bit disoriented, can not walk well, does not understand how to sit to go to the bathroom...we want to bring her in to the hospital because we are worried but she does not want to go...what should we do...

thanks for writing in.
since the patient is elderly it is important to give proper care. it is very much advisable to consult a cardiologist regarding congestive heart failure as he may run a few tests like ECG, echocardiography.

usually the medications given for congestive heart failure include anti arrhythmic drugs, non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs, anti hypertensive drugs.
supportive treatment like salt restricted diet is important to reduce oedema.
