Suggest Treatment For Congestion In Lungs

I have congestion in my lungs and am taking mucinex to break it up. I am drinking a considerable amount of fluid (12 oz and hour at least). i am drinking diet cranberry juice. My wife tells me regularly that I need to drink water. Does it matter what kind of fluid I drink to help the mucinex do its job?

Hi, its not the congestion in lungs but congestion in throat would be your problem for which u are taking mucinex and its good too but drinking too much water has no role in relieving the congestion despite its good. U had not mentioned other symptoms which usually occurs like cough with sputum,cold,mild dyspnea with or without fever etc .if u are suffering from all this then mucinex alone won't work, it will require appropriate antibiotics, expectorants and other symptomatics.u should consult pulmonologist or physician to get cured.
