Hi. I have a long history of colon problems staying ten years ago with colon cancer. After spending the past 4 months in a lot of pain and having many test done I have to have another resection done. But before they do that they are going to do one of the colon Transit test. I am wondering if laxatives will affect this test. The doctor has me on very large doses of laxatives right now and I have to take the test next week. Thank you
The colon transit study will take 4 or 7 days to complete. You will take 1 Sitzmark capsule every day for 3 days. On the fourth day an x-ray of your abdomen is done.
Remember to schedule the abdominal x-ray for the colon transit study 4 and 7 days after you take the first capsule.
Laxatives will not affect the test.
