in the past couple of days I developed a cold sore on the inside of my lower lip, very ordinary. But at the same time I developed a sore (or two?) in either side of my frenulum down at the very base where it connects with the lower jaw. I ve never had this before so wanted to see if the sore on the frenulum is basically the same as an ordinary cold sore. How long should I wait for it to go away before calling my doctor?
Cold sore also called herpes simplex is a viral infection caused by herpes simplex virus. It is a relapsing condition. Poor immunity may be the cause. Kindly consult the dermatologist.
I would suggest...
- antiviral drugs like acyclovir - immunomodulator like levamisole - application of acyclovir cream - antibiotics to reduce and prevent secondary bacterial infection - povidine iodin gargles - avoid stress - have patience
I hope you may be benefitted with these tips.
Thanks.
