General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It can be sign of systemic infections like malaria etc or sometimes viral fevers may present with severe shivering episodes. It's better to get blood counts done and inflammatory markers as well as urinalysis as baseline work up. Blood cultures during such episodes and malarial parasite smear should also be done. Meanwhile OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be helpful for symptomatic relief. If shivering persists, may need infectious diseases specialist follow up.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
