Suggest Treatment For Cold , Cough And Nasal Congestion
Hi Doc, My daughter had cold and cough a week ago and she s better now but the thing I m concerned about is that her saliva is a little thick and she sometimes even spits congestion. I ve been noticing this problem with her for a while now but I thought maybe she s just recovering. Do I need to check with a specialist? Thank you.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have cold , cough and nasal congestion which is due to upper respiratory tract infection and common cold. I would suggest you to take few preventive measures such as you should take cough expectorants. You should take anti inflammatory medication such as Levocetrizine. Need not to worry about thick saliva. You should use throat lozenges and go rinses with warm saline water. You should Chew a Vitamin C pellet. Take decongestants and mucolytic agents. Avoid cold carbonated beverages. Take diet rich in vitamin B12. You should take antibiotics such as Levofloxacin or Azithromycin for 5-7 days. You should get blood test and swab test done. Visit pediatrician once and get it examined.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
