Suggest Treatment For Cold , Cough And Nasal Congestion

Hi, I ve had what I thought was a cold for about a week. Cough, nasal congestion, and sore throat. Today I started feeling an ache in the right jaw area and now pain in my nose and cheeks. I ve been taking mucinex, should I continue taking it or try something different?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Common Cold is due to viral infection. Only rest and symptomatic treatment is needed to cure it. It will last for 1 week. But if lasting more than 1 week or there is purulent nasal discharge or sputum then approach your GP for antibiotics. Taking lemon tea, warm chicken soup with pepper and chewable vitamin c is helpful also. Mucinex is for relieving congestion. No need to take it more as you have taken these many days. You can do steam inhalation also.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
