Hello Doc . my baby is 2 years old and suffering from cold and cough for about an week. She sometimes also get fever. I consulted a doctor and she gave Tuspress syrup and CTZ syrup for 3 days but it didnt work out. In the follow up, she now gives medicine syp. Tusspel Plus and syp. Dezacor. Are these medicine safe and right recommendation.
Understanding your concern. As per your query your child has cough, cold, fever which is mainly because of lower respiratory tract infection and it could be due to granular pharyngitis. Need not to worry about it. Symptoms resembling flu and normally takes 3 days for viral fever to go. Visit pediatrician once and get it examined. Tusspel Plus and syp. Dezacor as prescribed to you are right medications but you should give mild dosage of it to your child. If cough is exaggerating go for chest X-ray, blood and sputum test of child. If it is bacterial infection start with proper course of antibiotics. Till then give crocin 4 hourly. Acetaminophen is also effective and you can give that as well. Give child proper rest without any discomfort. Give water after every few mins.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
