Suggest Treatment For Cold And Sore Throat
I got a head/chest cold about 2 months ago.. I also had a sore throat. I did get put on antibiotics and steroids for some fluid in my lungs. Since then everything has gone back to normal except my throat. It still feels like im swallowing glass. I have to constantly drink water or the pain is worse. I did seem like i had about a week where ir did feel much better. I do have a lot of stress right now and I am a smoker. Not much of a drinker. I also do notnhave health insurance right now.

Understanding your concern. As per your query cold and sore throat is because of due to upper respiratory infection. it could be strep throat or sinusitis. I would suggest you to start with course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs. Avoid cold beverages. Do warm saline gargles 3-4 times a day with lukewarm water. Take diet rich in fruits rich in vitamin C as it will boost your immunity. Keep on sipping lukewarm water whole day. If symptoms keeps on persisting visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and start proper course of antibiotics. You can take steam inhalation and an expectorant cough syrup if cough is associated with sputum. Phenylephrine, chlorpheniramine maleate are effective cough syrups.
