Most often respiratory tract infections in children is caused due to certain viruses. Antibiotics are ineffective in such a situation. Some antiallergic generally provides relief. Steam inhalation is helpful. In case if childhood asthma or wheezing is associated, inhalation of some bronchodialator like Ventorlin or Salbutamol might be required. It is best given using a spacer device. Doliprane (acetaminophen) will help in bringing down the temperature and should be given on when fever is present.
Grinding of teeth in children, also called bruxism, often occurs due to no definite cause and does not need to be treated. But in such a case, grinding of teeth could be due to febrile convulsion and hence the child needs to be monitored carefully and taken to a hospital if the grinding of teeth seems to be associated with altered consciousness or stiffening of limbs.
