Hello,

You are suffering from chronic pain in the neck after injury. You were on methadone. You don't want pain pump implant to monitor pain. Taking any medicine for a very long period does result in side effects or complications. Misuse of methadone may result in addiction, adverse effect, over dose or may even be fatal. To treat chronic neck pain, the cause or pathology causing it is detected by undergoing tests and investigations like X-ray, CT, MRI, EMG and blood tests.

Chronic neck pain can be relieved by chiropractor care, muscle therapy, taking supplements, physical therapy, traction, short term immobilization, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS). Sometime, the treating doctor may recommend steroid injections or surgery. Warm and cold compression may be helpful. You will need special pillow, heat and cold therapy, new mattress, neck stabilization and posture braces may help.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
