Suggest Treatment For Chronic Pain And Weakness Despite Taking Medication

My husband takes meds for multi-system arthritis however he continues to experience chronic pain and weakness. When he was originally diagnosed, he was prescribed Prednisone which was miraculous to changing his health. He has been off it for quite some time and his health has deteriorated. He seems to be becoming depressed which, to a degree, is understandable. he tires easily and still aches all the time. He takes vitamins and Methotrexate as well as another med I can t recall. Is there any suggestions you may have?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. If you have maxed out all your efforts with medications, I would suggest alternative therapy such as accupuncture, consultation with registered dietitians and physical therapy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Samuel Parmar
