Suggest Treatment For Chronic Lung Disease, Parkinson S And Pneumonia
Hello. Our patient is aged abt 57, suffering from Perkinson plus and chronic lung disease. She had aspiration pneumonia. She usually aspirates both saliva and liquid food while taking food. What s her remedy? Is any management to strengthen the bulbar muscles and to reduce saliva,ie. to minimize the possibility of recurrent aspiration?

I really appreciate your concern, differential diagnosis first need to be taken under consideration, second certain drugs which causes the excessive secretion of saliva must be omitted, here Parkinson's may be questionable, physiotherapy can be tried for swallowing purpose, (In such case complete case history may needed for proper advise and it may not be possible on this form), hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
