Suggest Treatment For Chronic Knee Pain

I have severe knee and arch pains that come and go in different areas of my knees and sometimes my outer lower leg. I am on my feet all day as a nurse. Motrin helps a lot but don t want to damage my stomach lining. Also if I jar my leg or foot I get horrible knee pain. Please advise.

Hi, thanks for trusting Healthcare Magic.

Knee pain is often complained by everyone especially women and the elderly. This pain will be aggravated by the age factor, so more often complained of parents. Allegedly reduced bone mass becomes the cause of calcium absorption is less and less perfect.
In general, the condition of knee pain bs caused by;
- Osteoarthritis (cartilage damage due to reduced joint fluid)
- Rheumatoid arthritis (autoimmune disorders)
- Gout arthritis (high uric acid)
- Muscle / bone disorders (injuries, sprains, fractures, dislocations)
- Obesity
- Excessive physical activity etc.

My advice you should check your condition to your Neurologist or internist, there may be several checks including blood tests and X-rays.

Meanwhile I suggest:
- Limit excessive physical activities
- Make sure you get enough rest
- Regular exercise 3-4x / week, choose light exercise like swimming
- Drinking water min 2 L per day
- Be sure to eat healthy foods with balanced nutrition, especially vegetables and fruits, nuts that contain vitamin B complex for nerves, vitamin D, and calcium
- Stop smoking, alcohol and drugs

Hope you get well soon.
