I have chronis insomnia, over 20 years.I have tried everything but nothing helps me sleep.I have only been getting around 4 hours at night.Occasionally I nap during the day but this interfered with night sleep.I am exausted& at my wit s end to find relief. Can Doxylamine make me very shaky& weak.I just recovered from bronchitis.I was I ll over a month& needed 2 different antibiotics plus steroids to get rid of the bronchitis. Now I am trying to regain my strength but I am very shaky, weak& irritable daily. Is this from the Doxylamine?
As you are feeling week, loss of strength, these are symptoms of use of Doxylamine. But so for your insomnia is concerned it is not due to this drug as this drug induces sleep. There may be other reasons for lack of sleep like:
- Habits to sleep late.
- Sleeping in the daytime.
- Use of coffee, tea and drinks rich in caffeine particularly in the evening time.
- Use of mobile phones in bed.
- Any neurological and psychiatric issues.
You are advised to change your habits and visit a nearby psychiatrist for further evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Soheel Hussain Zargar,
