Suggest Treatment For Chronic Endocervicitis With Squamous Metaplasia

hi there, i m 3 weeks post d&c and I also had a finding of chronic endocervicitis with squamous metaplasia. I m still recuperating and observing for symptoms while waiting for my period. Can I get a schedule with my OB for a pap smear test asap while still 3 weeks post d&c? Should I ask for a normal or the liquid based one? I think I got a yeast infection years back which has not been addressed to, before I ve been diagnosed to have endo polyps and pcod.. I just want to be ruled out of anything or get things clear before it s too late. any advice? TIA.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you can wait a week till your first period after the d&c procedure comes, then within five days after period, you can go for a pap smear. This is a perfect time for the cervical lining to be at its normal conditions.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
