Suggest Treatment For Chronic Cyst On The Kidney

I ve been diagnosed with a 2cm simple cyst 3yrs ago on left kidney, recently had an ultrasound on the same cyst for a check up. I saw septation going from one side of cyst to the other and it has grown to 2.8cm since 3yrs ago. Dr has ordered a ct scan of cyst w contrast and w/o contrast. What does this mean, and will it need to be taken out now due to the septa?

Hi.

It probably would, the cyst may have to be operated on, but your doctor will be the best judge of this, but this is for the better, as further growth and increase in size can lead to further damage to the kidneys which is not really good for overall prognosis and quality of life.

Best wishes.
