Suggest Treatment For Child Suffering From Loose Motions And Vomiting

Hi

My daughter is 3 1/2 years old. She is suffering from loose motions from yesterday night. She had gone to the rest rooms 7 times till now. She has vomitted twice. She is not

dehydrated. We are giving her a lot of water to drink.

Any suggestions are appreciated...

Hello
thanks for using health care magic

It is a good thing that she is taking much fluid already. that is a good step in preventing her from getting severely dehydrated. Any child who is loosing water either by vomiting or diarrhea is classified as having mild dehydration already.

If your daughter is having a fever, the situation would appear more severe and you absolutely need to see a doctor immediately.

If on the other hand, she is not having a fever and the stools or what is throwing up is not white like rice water then you could manage it at home with oral rehydration salt. But if the vomiting and loose motions persist or she becomes weak, you will need to take her to hospital immediately.

Give her much ripe banana and or carrot juice to help cut down the loose motions.
Best regards
