Hello,

Duane Syndrome usually does not require surgery for the most part but it sounds like your daughter may fit the requirements for it. Surgery does not fix the problems with the nerve connections, but surgery can move muscles to compensate for the abnormal nerve connections. Surgery does not restore normal eye movement, but it can (and usually does) substantially improve the situation.

Without knowing more about your daughter's situation I don't think I can provide much guidance, it does require a very specialized pediatric surgical ophthalmologist to perform this type of surgery, I possible can you inform me of the country you reside in?

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
