I had acute hemoptysis 2 weeks back. I didn t have cough and chest pain. I did do x ray and resulted right lung infection in upper part. I took some antibiotics and tranxenemic for hemoptysis. So I resides after few days. But now two weeks after I have little pain in my right upper thorax while taking deep breath. So I again did x ray and reveals that the infection is now on upper and middle region of right lungs. I am also having petechial hemorrhage on both of my lower limbs. And a ulcer on floor of mouth. I m losing weight. No other symptoms.
Thanks for your question on HCM. In my opinion you should immediately consult pulmonologist and get done 1. CT thorax 2. Sputum culture and sensitivity 3. Sputum for AFB 4. Bronchoscopy and BAL (Bronchoalveolar lavage) analysis. Since your chest x ray is worsened even after treatment, we need to find out the causative organism and antibiotics effective against it. Tuberculosis should be ruled out as hemoptysis is common in TB. CT will be more useful in determining infectious involvement in lung. And sputum AFB is needed in rule out tuberculosis. Culture and sensitivity helps in guiding antibiotics. Haphazard use of antibiotics are very harmful. It will increase the recovery time and increase chance of resistance. So better to consult pulmonologist and start treatment according to the sensitivity report.
