Suggest Treatment For Chest Pain Due To Broken Rib During Pregnancy

I am 36 weeks pregnant and was diagnosed with a cracked rib on upper left side due to severe coughing from flu last week. Today I was carrying a booster seat to my car and felt a pop and unbearable pain where my cracked rib is. I can barely move and it hurts when I month
ve all and when I breath deep. The pain is unbearable, what should I do?

I can understand your concern.
You should do following things for pain relief.
1. Apply warm water pad on affected areas of chest.
2. Take painkiller and anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen or acetaminophen.
3. Avoid movements causing pain. Avoid sudden jerky movements of chest.
4. Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise.
5. Sit with proper back support.
6. Wear chest belt to prevent mobilization of fractured rib.
You will mostly improve with all these in 1 week.
