Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was diagnosed with cellulitus of the nose and I'm taking Amox. 500- 125 MG every 8 hours. I have seen no improvement since starting the antibiotic. The infection is deep in nose and it is very sore to touch and red on the outside. At what point do I go in for a blood test to see if it's become septic? I also am a post op surgery patient from an operation to my right toe on 12/18 and I'm concerned about getting this in my blood because it's in my nasal passages.
Hello, The medicine you are taking is absolutely right and will tak some time to give results. Take the medicine for 7-10 days depending upon the response. Take some anti inflammatory like ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day for 4-5 days. It is very important for you to complete the course and take the medicines correctly because nasal vestibulitis or cellulitis can be dangerous. Make sure that your sugar levels are controlled ,in case you are diabetic. Thanks
