Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a few very small puncture wounds on my forearm that are centered somewhat around my ulna. I received them last night from my cat when got scared while I was holding him. Around these puncture wounds is some bruising and slight swelling, particularly near the bone. I am not sure if this is just a healing process or if it is a sign of early infection, as there is no puss to be seen at this point.
Hi, if i were your treating doctor, then i would suggest the following 1) To have a dose of tetanus toxoid, if not received in previous three years. 2) If your cat is exposed to stray animals, then there is a risk of getting infected with rabies. so i would advice to get immunized with anti-rabies vaccine. 3) need not panic. Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
