Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 74 year old female and have been told by drs that the intense pain in my upper left leg is bursitis. I can t walk upstairs after nearly 2 years post left hip replacement. I had a really traumatic fall and I have not recovered fully as yet. The pain in my upper leg, just above the knee, has intensified recently and I have no idea had to treat it except with occasional heat. What do you suggest as treatment for this bursitis ?
Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you are suffering from bursitis.Treatment of bursitis is rest, hot fomentation and analgesics. If it doesn't respond to this treatment than you may require excision of bursa, for which you have to visit orthopedic surgeon. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health. Take care.
