Suggest Treatment For Burnt Wound On The Inner Arm

I encountered a burn on the inner part of my forearm while using a pizzelle iron. The lid of the iron was open and as I reached over it unfortunately made contact with it. This happened 3 days ago. Initally, I applied aloe vera gel to ease the pain, which worked. Yesterday, while drying off after a shower I accidently went over the area with the towel and the burnt skin lifted up. Carefully, I removed most of the burnt skin and as the area looked clean but reddish I applied a little Neosporin and a dura-weave fabric band-aid which I left on today until showering. My question is: am I doing the correct thing and how do I proceed in treating this burn which is approximately 1 x 1 sq.? How do I keep it clean and should I continue to cover it? I am an active tennis player and don t want it getting durty or have contact with the sun. Thank you.
