Suggest Treatment For Bumps On The Scalp

Dermatology issue : history of bad skin / cysts, etc., now have had a number of small bumps on scalp for a few weeks. Occasionally one will drain a very small amount of (pus?). The smell is very strong / bad smelling.
Years ago a dermatologist - with no biopsy first - surgically removed what I presume were the same type "bumps," leaving scars on scalp which kept my hair from regrowing in those areas. I don't recall hearing what they were, but they were obviously not cancerous. Any ideas before I see a dermatologist? Thank you.

As per your complain bumps over the scalp can occur due to causes like hair follicle infection of Folliculitis, bacterial infection causing Impetigo, allergic reactioncausing Contact Dermatitis etc..
I would suggest you to consult a Trichologist or Dermatologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like microscopic examination of the scrapings from the scalp and blood tests can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
You can be advised antibiotics, anti inflammatory medicines, anti allergic medicines and topical application of antibiotic and steroid ointment..
Avoid scratching the bumps to avoid infection..
Wash the scalp every alternate day with a mild shampoo..
Avoid moisture accumulation in the scalp..
