Suggest Treatment For Bumps At Back Of The Tongue

Near the back of my tongue there are what appear to be 3 quite large bumps. At first I noticed the one on the left side and it became quite painful (similar to a canker), and then two side by side on the other. I noticed this today while brushing my tongue as it isn't something I do very often. I decided to feel further back and there are what feels like hundreds more of these things(they feel the same) but I cannot see them. What are these bumps? Are they all the same?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain bumps at the back of the tongue can be due to Inflamed circumvallate papilla which contains taste buds and inflammation can occur due to burning with hot foods, irritation of back part of tongue or infection from throat, allergic reaction with any food or medicine etc..

It is mostly self resolving and no treatment is required.

In case if there is pain or soreness present, you can start gargling with a numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..
Avoid spicy and hot foods..
Gargle with cool water and suck ice pops..
Do not gargle with a concentrated solution of mouthwash, dilute it with half of water..

Hope you get well soon..

Thanks and regards..
