Suggest Treatment For Bump On Shin After An Injury

Hi, I have a bump on my shin as a result of plaing baseball. I ve had it for nearly 2 weeks. Is is haematoma? The area surroung the bump is yellow. Walking and joggins is no problem. Should a doctor see it or will the bump go away? If so, how soon can I expect it to go away? I put ice on it only once. Thank you.

Hi there.
This does appear to be a hematoma & being a hockey player myself, have had the luxury of sporting quite a few on the shins over the years.
I dont think this calls for a visit to the doctor.
Should you wish to visit one in your area, our HCM site directory should be helpful.
The colours will change as in a bruise..await the purple/black/green etc & it will get back to normal over a couple of weeks.
I find with these things one cannot put a specific time limit but picking a diet rich in Vit C will certainly help speed the process.
Ice is probably not a great friend when these things happen...chilled water is probably best.
Good Luck & Hope your bumps normalise sooner than later.
Godspeed!
