Suggest Treatment For Bump And Redness On Upper Lip

Hi, I have had a small pimple on my upper lip ( I am sure it s not a cold sore) it s one of those deep pimples that you cannot pop.. After applying acne medication to the pimple, it has decreased.. But a little bump and redness are still there. How can I get rid of this/ help it heal faster?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain a small inflamed bump on the upper lip if not due to herpes virus infection causing cold sore, then it can be due to other causes like bacterial infection, inflamed sebaceous gland, sun blister or an acne.
You should take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen or aleve to reduce allergy symptoms,do cool compresses over it, apply an antibiotic ointment over it and take a short course of antibiotics like Clindamycin..
Do not try to pop the lesion as it can further increase inflammation as well as can cause pain and swelling..
Keep the area clean, avoid harsh lip cosmetics and if you wish you can apply cooled aloevera gel..
Take vitamin supplements and a nutritious diet.
Hope this information helps.

Thanks and regards.
