I am 69 years old. (a retired reg. nurse) In 2008, while taking x-rays of my spine for back pain, my Family Practice Dr. noted I had two bulging disks, and also noticed that my right kidney was enlarged. I had an excellent neuro surgeon, and the back surgery went well, but I had a cerebral/spinal leak into the incision. So I went back to surgery!! My pressure dropped sharply in rec. room, and I had a stroke that took my peripheral vision. Therefore, I had scans of my vessels. Carotids & vessels were clear. BUT, the neurologist told me I had a patent mitral foramen ovalie (congenital hole ), & I am monthly monitored for the Warfarin that I am taking. A month after the surgery, etc. I had a cysto, retrogrades, and stent insertion by a skilled urologist. After a month, the scans showed no reduction in size. In the fall of 2008 I had the radioactive isotopes, and my left kidney was emptying normally, and the right kidney functioned 23%. My K+ was noted to be elevated last year, 2014, probably due to inadequate right kidney dumping. So I was started on Lasix, and follow a low K+ diet. I void approx 6-8 times daily. I haven t any major problems, although I had my fasting labs done a week ago. (q 6 months) My creatinine was 1.35 mg/dl 6 months ago. Now it s 1,64 mg/dl. I have an appointment with my urologist next week. Just out of curiosity, do you have any advice or suggestions. Why is the creatinine rising?? What s happening to me?? Your thoughts, please.
