I have been diagnosed with a bruised scaphoid bone. I fell on an outstretched hand while snowboarding. I went to see my regular doctor about 10 days after the injury with no swelling but pain a the base of my thumb. He said he thought it was either sprained or fractured and sent me to an orthopedic doctor. He xrayed it 13 days after the fall and said there was no sign of a fracture and it was just bruised. Over the past week I have seen no progression in healing. Quite the opposite. It has become a little stiff and now hurts to move in certain positions as it did not before. Could there be a chance it is fractured? And what should I do to treat it before getting into see another doctor?
