Suggest Treatment For Bruise On Upper Thigh After Injury
My 16 year old daughter tripped and hit her upper outside thigh on a timber bed edge this has resulted in a huge bruise, she had difficulty sleeping with the pain and this morning is having spasms to area and difficulty walking or placing weight on leg. There is swelling and lump to the area bruised.
Firstly I would like to tell you that it will take a week for complete healing as it appears that your daughter has big bruise. I advise my patients with such injury following 1 absolute bed rest for a week 2 pain killers (injection tramadol or tablet ibuprofen) as per the severity of pain. 3 cleaning of bruised area by antiseptics.
If I don't notice any improvement(with in two days) I go for ultrasound to look for haematoma, which in turn will require drainage by small incision for rapid recovery.
I hope i have clarified your queries. Do write for follow up queries. Please provide feedback on the reply. I wish your daughter a faster recovery. Thank you.
