Suggest Treatment For Brown Spots Throughout The Body While Having Migraine

Hi, I m a 20 year old woman. Ever since I was in 5th grade I ve had migraine. The doctor prescribed depakean and ever since I ve gotten Brown spots all over my body. dermatologists have told me it was a side effect and it will go away eventually, over the years I ve gone to different doctors who have prescribed a different midicines. The first was Sandomigrane which caused me to gain weight on top of that. But hopefully I cut it out fast ASAP. The second one was Topomax, which was good but my dermatologist told me not to take since it would have the same stuff that made brown marks on my skin? It s been almost 15 years and I ve stopped taking my medicine since I was 11 because I haven t been getting any migraine headaches. But I still have spots all over my body. Any one have any ideas?

Hi,

Skin allergic reactions are rare side effects of Depakene and Topomax. Not much is known about Sandomigran side effects. According to my knowledge, the reaction is probably Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS).

The thing is there is no particular treatment option available for it. SJS is treated conservatively by supportive treatments. Besides role of corticosteroids in skin lesions of SJS is also controversial. So it can be used as a trial and error basis as per dermatologists' suggestion. Otherwise, I think laser therapy is the option for spots if they affect less body surface area.
