Suggest Treatment For Bouts Of Severe Pruritis With Rashes On Body

Seems for no reason I would develop rather severe pruritis associated with rash along the upper thigh areas and in the upper chest area in the upper rib cage area, below the armpits off and on in these areas. It has occurred intermittently over the past few years. It is very hypersensitive to touch of clothing. Steroid cream or antifungal cream does not seem to help much....what to you suggest?

Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcareMagic

I suggest a possibility of urticaria Or hives.
Hives may occur as a hypersensitive reaction to allergens that may be present in one's environment.
The allergen may be present in food. It may be pollens, house dust mites or oral drugs that one may be taking.
Usually these hives are short lasting and treatment is symptomatic i.e Oral antihistamine. e.g cetrizine once daily for 7-10 days.
Topically you may use a soothing lotion e.g calamine lotion for symptomatic relief.

Regards
