Suggest Treatment For Boil On Back Of Tongue

I have this feeling of a lump/boil at the back of my tongue. It's not actually on my tongue, it seems to be in a groove between my uvula and tongue. I don't have tonsils so I know it's not a tonsil problem. It feels as though food or something is stuck there. I've noticed that the sensation decreases when I drink fluids, however increases if I smoke. It's not sore or painful just very irritating

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query treatment for boil on back of tongue could be a traumatic fibroma which is due to traumatic injury to tongue. It could be because of or a frictional keratosis due to chronic irritation by the sharp cuspal edges of the teeth. Need not to worry about it. Visit dentist once and get it examined. Till then apply topical analgesics and gum paint on area. If this boil keeps on persisting get it extracted under local anesthesia. Maintain oral hygiene. Do gargles with luke warm water.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
