Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Bloody mucus is a symptom suggesting certain colon issues and in most cases, it is a sign of benign colon lesions such as hemorrhoids, anal fissure or rectal polyps. These are primarily treated with stool softener, diet, and sitz baths.

If there is no improvement, then surgical management should be considered. Other causes may be more serious and include tumors or inflammatory bowel diseases and these should be ruled out with colonoscopy which must be done if there is low blood count present or rapid weight loss. Otherwise, you can see if conservative therapy will help and consult a proctologist if necessary.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein
