My husband is 42 years old. He was drinking for the Super Bowl Party last night. (he does drink at least 2 times a week)..usually just beer. He has had bright red blood in his stool today. We do not have health insurance. Do you have any ideas or suggestions?
Blood in the stool may be due to 1. Hemorrhoids. 2. Fissure 3. Fistulas. 4. Dysentery. 5. Irritable bowel syndrome. 6 Colitis etcetera. Avoid spicy food and alcohol. Avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. Avoid constipation, take a high fiber diet and regular exercise. Drink plenty of liquids. Use syrup lactulose thirty ml after dinner for five days. If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
