Suggest Treatment For Blood In Stool

My 3-year old son was standing up to pee, and then suddenly said he pooped. By his feet was mucus with streaks of blood and a little loose stool material. He has been acting/eating normally and has not complained of any pain. What could be possible causes of this?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

If a single episode of blood, it can be with intestine infection; if repeated a strong suspicious of rectal polyp can be considered.

Recommend to take a stool microscopy and clinical examination with a pediatrician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
